We've tried both the Fish and Chips and the Haggis. If you like either, get them. We ate outside and took-in the sights and sounds of the locals in the market-place. We were entertained by musicians while we dined and had just a great time. The plate will be full and hard to finish... but that's a good thing!
This was a great fish shop in the old days, and has gradually transformed into a restaurant and take-away. It is completely reliable, great menu and great value. One of it's real advantages is the staff - who are 'real galway' and always full of fun.
We have been coming to Galway and McDonaghs for over thirty years and it's still the same high quality and attention to every detail as it was then. Best wishes to Mary and her family on a splendid job
Lovely atmosphere, delicious meal and the staff were so considerate even when I made awkward requests (I'm lactose intolerant and they made a dessert specially for me!)
